Weekly Snowmobile Trail Report

Welcome to the weekly trail report from the Silver Trail Riders

This week has brought a lot of new snow to our trails.  We did not start grooming until Wednesday this week since most of our operators were shoveling out of the foot of new snow we received.  Logging has started on the Red Dot corridor trail from where the trail crosses Hwy #11 for about 1.1 miles towards Silver Bay.  This road will have logging trucks and equipment on it for the next month or so.  Please be extra cautious on this portion of the trail since the snowbanks are very high and there is very little room if you meet a logging truck.  All the other trails in our system are excellent and have a nice base.  Get out this weekend and enjoy them.

Trails were groomed as follows:

Beaver Bay Trail, Wednesday, 2/13, condition good, a double pass to County Hwy #4, single pass into town from Hwy #4

Red Dot from Silver Bay to State Trail, Wednesday, 2/13, condition good, double pass, caution on logging portion of the trail

Tettegouche Park trail to County Hwy #4, Thursday, 2/14, condition good, double pass with the groomer

Tettegouche Park trail to Hwy #1, Thursday, 2/14, condition good, double pass with the groomer

Tettegouche Park trail lower loop/Palisade Head, Thursday, 2/14, condition good, double pass with the groomer

George’s Gorge trail,  Thursday, 2/14, condition good, a single pass with the groomer

Moose Walk including Red Dot from Silver Bay, Friday, 2/15, condition good, double pass with the groomer

Lax Lake spur from Red Dot, Friday evening, 2/15, minimal traffic

Twin Lakes spur from Red Dot, Friday evening, 2/15, double pass

State trail grooming:

We are scheduled for grooming the State Trail on Saturday night, 2/16. We will be leaving town about 8:00 pm, going out the Red Dot corridor trail, then heading to the Northshore Mining tracks, turning around and heading to Finland, turning around again and returning to town via the Red Dot corridor trail again.
