Industrial Park

Silver Bay's Business/Industrial Park is located on U.S. Highway 61, approximately 56 miles northeast of Duluth on the shores of Lake Superior. The Park is approximately 110 acres with irregular property lines. The site is mostly wooded with natural drainage from northwest to southeast with slopes varying from 5% to 15%.

Access to the Business Park is by U.S. Highway 61, a two-lane highway running between Duluth, Minnesota and Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is in the process of updating and improving Highway 61. The City owns and operates a municipal airport approximately 10 miles from the Business Park. Lake Superior is close, but not adjoining, the site, but panoramic views are common at various sites within the Business Park.

Our Business Park is one of very few parcels situated along Hwy. 61 that is properly zoned for development and served by municipal water and sewer services. The City in 1995 completed major renovations to its wastewater treatment facility in order that it can handle any type of proposed business. Minnesota Pollution Control Agency annually gives high marks for our operation of the wastewater treatment facility.

Persons or businesses wishing to locate or relocate to one of Minnesota's most scenic areas on the North Shore of Lake Superior should contact the City Administrator's Office in Silver Bay: Phone 218-226-4408, Fax 218-226-4068. The City will subdivide to suit tenants. Prices are negotiable. Environmentally sensitive businesses who desire scenic surroundings and a high quality of life and workforce should seriously consider the opportunities afforded in our Business Park.
