SUMMER & PART TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The City of Silver Bay is
now accepting adult & student applications (must be 16 years
old to apply) for 2008 part-time & summer employment (6 months or less
positions). Applications are available at City Hall, Monday through
Friday, and are to be returned to City Hall by April 18, 2008.
Student workers will be asked to indicate a preference for which
department they prefer to work in between Parks & Recreation and
Water/Wastewater. The City plans to fill all summer employment positions
by May 2. APPLICANTS RETURNING TO THE SAME POSITION GET A ONE TIME
INCREASE OF $.75/HOUR. The following positions are available:
- Groundskeeper – 40hrs/wk, $10.00/hr. Supervise mowing crew and
mowing and maintenance of Silver Bay City grounds.
- Cemetery Caretaker – 10 to 20 hrs/wk, $10.00/hr.
- Street Department Aide - 40 hrs/wk, $7.40/hr. Operate lawn mowers;
weed whips and other tasks, as necessary.
- Sidewalk Crew – Assist in replacing City sidewalks, shoveling,
raking, cutting sod, setting forms, pouring concrete and
miscellaneous street maintenance jobs.
- Mowing Crew – Mow grass, weed whip, pick up trash around mowing
areas, prune trees and other miscellaneous street maintenance jobs.
- Utilities Department Aide – 40 hrs/week, $7.40/hr. Work within
utilities department and other tasks as necessary.
- Water/WasteWater Internship - $10.00/hr
- Park Aide - 32 hrs/wk, $7.40/hr. Mow, weed whip, brush paint, clean,
shovel, rake, and ballfield maintenance.
- Park Intern – 32-40 hrs/wk, $8.15-$10.00/hr. Operates Satoh
Tractor, Cushman Turf Truckster, Work Crew Leader, & Baseball
Coordinator.
- Rec. Intern – 32-40 hrs/wk, $8.15-$10.00/hr. Work Crew Leader,
Softball, Open Gym/Volleyball, Tennis, & Arts & Crafts
Coordinator.
- Tennis Instructor - 20 hrs/wk, $8.15 - $9.50/hr.
- Arts & Crafts Instructor - 12 hrs/wk, $7.40/hr.
- Swim Instructor Supervisor – 30-35 hrs/wk, $9.50/hr. WSI Required.
- Swim Instructor – 30-35 hrs/wk, $8.00/hr. WSI Preferred.
- Marina Aide I – up to 40 hrs/wk, $10.00/hr. Assists in the daily
operation of the Harbor/Marina Facility.
- Marina Aide II – 32-40 hrs/wk, $7.40/hr. Operate lawn mower and
weed whips, pump gas, sewer pump-outs, clean and scrub and
miscellaneous tasks as necessary
- Student Workers - A list of positions is available at City Hall, 32
- 40 hrs/wk, $6.15/hr.
