Silver Bay Public Library Honors
Julie Billings Named 1998 Cybrarian of the Year!
The Silver Bay Public Librarian, Julie Billings was awarded the MCI WorldCom 1998 Minnesota Cybrarian of the Year Award as well as the Midwest Technology Grant Winner. MCI WorldCom chose 51 Cybrarian winners, one per state including Washington D.C. Each winner was awarded $1,000 for the library and one year of free Internet access. Amongst the 51 winners, five were chosen for their outstanding use of current technology to benefit their community. The five nationwide winners were awarded a $30,000 technology grant to be used in their library.
