The Friend\u2019s mission is to <strong>foster community engagement, create opportunities, and inspire curiosity<\/strong> by promoting the services of the library to all those living, working, or visiting throughout the Silver Bay area. We do this by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"vk-has-white-color has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-db15aef602659f5d677eeceb7de7b6fd vk_list_2\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Increasing awareness of and access to the library\u2019s functions, resources, and services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Assisting the library\u2019s development of programs that provide opportunities for education, discovery, creativity, and imagination<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Enhancing and expanding the library\u2019s services &amp; resources for all community members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Aiding in the provision of adequate library facilities, equipment, &amp; operations through funding support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"vk_block-margin-md--margin-top has-white-color has-text-color has-background has-medium-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#006655ba\">The Friends Board meets on the last Monday of every month at 5:00 PM in the library. We have a wide range of youth and adult fiction and nonfiction titles as well as many DVDs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Also each year on the Saturday of Bay Days, the Friends of the Library host a LARGE book sale 10 AM -3 PM.  Don&#8217;t miss it!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-6 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-5 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#065b9c\">DOLLY PARTONS IMAGINATION LIBRARY<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Friends of the Library have been partnering with Dolly Parton&#8217;s Imagination Library for over 10 years to deliver books to kids&#8217; homes.  Dolly Parton\u2019s Imagination Library is the flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation. It reaches more children than any other early childhood book gifting program, and mails free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth until age five, no matter their family\u2019s income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Families whose primary library is the Silver Bay Public Library with children age birth &#8211; five can sign up through the Imagination Library&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/imaginationlibrary.com\/usa\/affiliate\/MNSILVER\/?chkAvalAddressData=eyJjYWxsYmFjayI6dHJ1ZSwiYWRkcmVzcyI6eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiVVMiLCJ6aXAiOiI1NTYxNCIsInN0YXRlIjoiTU4iLCJjaXR5IjoiU2lsdmVyIEJheSIsImNvdW50eSI6Ikxha2UiLCJzdHJlZXQiOiIifX0%3D\">online registration form.<\/a>  Each month a book will come in the mail for your child(ren).
