The Silver Bay Volunteer Fire Department is accepting applications for individuals wanting to volunteer their time to serve on the department. Applications can be downloaded here or picked up at City Hall, 7 Davis Drive, Silver Bay, MN 55614 and returned to the same address before 4:00pm on Friday, February 28, 2020.  Applications received after this date will be kept on file for future openings. The City of Silver Bay now accepts credit and debit card payments through GovPayNet for city utilities (water/sewer/garbage). PLEASE NOTE: there is a non-refundable service fee retained by GovPayNet based on the charge. PLEASE READ for credit card processing service fees.  Click here to view their terms and conditions.

$94.15 utility payment + 2.49 service fee = $96.64 total credit card charge

2020 Dog and Cat Licenses Available

ATTENTION SILVER BAY RESIDENTS

2020 DOG and CAT LICENSES are available.

(Current licenses expired February 1, 2020).

ALL dogs and cats 6 months or older must be licensed.

License Fees: $6.00 – spayed/neutered (with papers), $15.00 – all others

Late Fee: $10.00 after February 28, 2020

PROOF OF CURRENT RABIES SHOTS MUST BE

PRESENTED BEFORE LICENSE WILL BE ISSUED.

Black Beach Municipal Campground – Coming May 2020!

Black Beach Campground will be owned and managed by the City of Silver Bay.  It is a 49-site campground that will have 30-amp electricity throughout all sites and 34 of the sites will also have 50-amp electric service and full water and sewer hookups. Most of the sites will accommodate larger RV’s that have difficulty finding appropriate size sites in other campgrounds along the North Shore.  There will also be a few pull-through sites.  Rentals will be either nightly or weekly.

The main building will house the required lavatories and bathing units.  There will be a playground, a group picnic area, and walking trail in the campground leading to Black Beach.

Residential Garbage and Recycling Pickup Each Wednesdays

Silver Bay Residents: garbage and recycling is picked up each Wednesday.  Please have your garbage and recycling on the boulevard by 8:00 a.m. as pickup times may vary throughout the year.

Place one pink tag on each garbage can you place out for pickup. Loop the tag through the handle of the an for easy removal or place around the neck of each garbage bag.  Maximum container size per pink tag is 32 gallons with a maximum weight of 25 pounds.

Pink tags can be purchased at the Julie’s True Value located in the Shopping Center or at John’s Sanitary located at 15 Golf Course Road in Silver Bay.  Questions can be directed to John’s Sanitary at 218-226-3418.
