THE PRAIRIE FIRE THEATRE PRESENTS: “SNOW WHITE”
Registration and auditions will be held on Monday, August 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the William Kelley High School Auditorium. The participation fee will be $15.00 per child or $35.00 per family. (Make checks payable to the City of Silver Bay). Funded in part by the Silver Bay Charitable Fund of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. Participants must be age 7 or older through 12th grade to participate.
Practice schedules and parts will be handed out on August 5th. Practice will be held at the William Kelley High School Auditorium from 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Performances are on Friday, August 9th and Saturday, August 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the William Kelley High School Auditorium. Come and have a great time! Tickets will be sold at the door on the nights of the performance. Cost is $7.00 per adult and $5.00 per student.

Summary of Construction Activities as of July 10th
• Grading in the central and west areas is about 75% complete.
• Sanitary sewer, water main, and services are complete in the central area.
• Gravel has been placed for the turn around on West Lakeview Drive.
• Soil corrections on the main building and picnic shelter sites is substantially complete.
• Electric installation is in progress on the central and west areas.
• The contractor is beginning rough grading on the East Area.
• Substantial completion date per the contract is September 20th.

On July 1st, the City Council swore in Scott Kochendorfer as Assistant Chief of Police. He will be working under Chief Doug Frericks until he retires in August. At that time Scott will become the Police Chief. He comes to us from the Red Wing Police Department, where he was the training officer.

The City is pleased to announce the hiring of Bryan Carpenter as the new Parks and Recreation Director. He started on July 1, 2019. He will be working with Mike Guzzo, until Mike’s retirement in December.
Beginning April 3, 2019 garbage and recycling pick up in Silver Bay will be together each Wednesday.
**Recycling will no longer be picked up on Thursdays.**
