Water Line Break Update
Update 5:15pm 1/28/25
Problem Corrected Notices have been delivered to the school and Banks Boulevard residents who were issued Boiler Water notices.
This is final notification as the city has been restored to normal operations.
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation!
Update 11:20am 1/28/28
Those living on Banks Boulevard (from Horn Blvd to Edison Blvd) and the school are still under a boil water notification as the city waits for the test results. Otherwise, operations are back to normal and residents, who are not in the section of Banks Boulevard, can use water as normal.
Update 8pm 1/27/25
Repairs on Quincy/Reed are completed, water pressures have been restored, and the water tower is gaining water. We ask the public to continue limiting use of water throughout this evening to help replenish the water towers. Pending no other unforeseen issues, the city should be back to normal operations in the morning and residents can return to using water as normal. We will advise if this changes.
Those living on Banks Boulevard (between Horn Blvd and Edison Blvd), including the school, who were issued a Boil Water Notification, need to continue to boil water until they receive a “Problem Corrected Notice”. This will be hand delivered to you once the city receives the water test results, which we expect to receive tomorrow, January 28, 2025.
Thank you for your patience, support, and cooperation in limiting your usage of water. It made a big difference!
Thank you to MN Rural Water, Northwest Power Equipment, local contractors, police and city staff, especially Mike Miller, Jason Roswold, Jesse Siskar, Corey Cook, Mike Rowlee, Jerry Mitchell, and Spencer Tiboni.
Please continue to limit water usage as an additional break has popped up due to the high pressures of our system.
Repairs on Banks Boulevard are completed; however those whose water service was shut off on Banks Blvd only (between Horn and Edison) are asked to boil water before consuming. Only those residents who received a boil order notice are impacted. Water testing has been completed and as soon as the results are received an additional letter will be delivered for those impacted. If you have not received notification, you are not impacted.
MN Rural Water is currently on site with additional local contractors expected to arrive throughout the day.
City crews are going to begin repairing Quincy/Reed this afternoon and continue on to additional breaks based on priority.
Staff continues to monitor the city. Thank you again for your help in limiting water usage during this time. We will continue to keep you posted and apologize for the inconvenience.”
